What is the recruitment process at Missouri State?
The formal recruitment process at Missouri State University allows each woman going through recruitment to meet women in each sorority and learn as much as possible about each sorority. Formal recruitment is a 3 day process where you, the potential new member, will get to see many different aspects of every sorority on campus. It is a great way to meet new Missouri State students as well as find your perfect fit in the Greek community.

Why go Greek?
Going greek is one of the best decisions you can make during your college experience. Not only do you automatically meet and connect with a huge group of new, amazing people, but you also get a chance to experience new leadship opportunities. A fraternity or sorority can help you network while you go through school, not to mention it is a blast to meet people who have the same interests as you. No matter what chapter you join, greek life is sure to make your college experience all that its worth!

How has being in a sorority affected my college experience?
I never planned on going Greek. I, like a lot of girls, went through recruitment to meet friends (and for the free t-shirt). Looking back three years later, I am so glad I wanted that free t-shirt. Being Greek has brought campus from a sea of random faces to a walk with friends, I know so many more people in college than I had ever expected to at such a big school all because I am a member of the Greek community. This has brought an unreal amount of opportunities to my doorstep, everything from connections in a future career to something to do on a Friday night.
Living with my sorority sisters has had by far the most profound impact as of yet, because regardless of age or pledge class, I always had a friend to talk to, shoulder to lean on, or just someone to go to Wal-Mart with at 2am. I have never felt more supported by a group of people in my life, and being in an art major not typically respected by a lot of people (theatre) this is the best feeling in the world. I know no matter what, there is a large group of girls I can call on at any point in time who would do anything for each other and myself. Having that feeling is well worth the work it takes to be Greek. It has definitely shaped my college experience in a way I never though possible.
